It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the China Interventional Therapeutics (CIT) 2007 in conjunction with TCT at CIT and EuroPCR at CIT, which will be held at the Beijing International Convention Center from March 29 to April 1, 2007.

TCT and EuroPCR will organize more productively joint programs at CIT 2007. TCT at CIT will be in the morning and EuroPCR at CIT in the afternoon of March 30, 2007. The courses directors, Dr. Martin Leon and Dr. Gregg Stone, Dr. Jean Marco and Dr. Patrick Serruys will chair the meetings, respectively, deliver important keynote lectures and moderate the live case transmissions. The CRF will organize an advanced course on PCI in the afternoon of March 29, 2007.

CIT 2007 promises to be innovative and stimulating, the scientific program will feature on coronary heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, structural heart disease, heart rhythm and related medical therapies. As the core of CIT, the congress will broadcast live cases from 13 hospitals both home and abroad in 2007. Plenary sessions featuring state-of-the-art lectures, concurrent sessions, basic course on PCI, case reviews, abstract oral presentations, 2nd annual symposium for nurse and technologist, luncheon workshops, evening satellite symposia will be arranged at different meeting rooms simultaneously. After summarizing the feedbacks of CIT 2006, the congress will provide a series of new contents in 2007 such as case-based debate and panel discussion at basic course, CIT young investigator award, electronic poster sessions and CIT learning center.

As the largest interventional cardiology meeting and one of the most educational teaching course in China, it is estimated that more than 3,000 experts, cardiologists, radiologists, vascular medicine specialists, industrial partners and other health care professionals with a special interest in the field of interventional cardiology will attend the meeting. Participants will have the opportunities to share scientific information and the latest advances, to exchange expertise in the field of interventional cardiology, to renew our friendship and increase worldwide collaboration. The congress will also provide a unique opportunity for the industries to exhibit their new products and to contact with the cardiologists more closely.

Beijing is a highly civilized and ancient city rich in historical sites and full of cultural events. The city is also an international metropolis with modern and efficient tourist systems. It changes with each passing day after being elected as the host city of Olympic Games 2008.
